Dog•id is a collaboration between the dancers and directors of Pilobolus and Steven Banks—a comedian and mime who is also one of the writers of the kids’ show SpongeBob SquarePants. Dog•id, uses shadows and silhouette to further the Pilobolus explorations of size, shape, and matter. The artist Kara Walker has brought silhouettes back to our attention, and Lotte Reiniger made a great animated silhouette film in 1926 called The Adventures of Prince Achmed.
